Course Description
Welcome to the The Tina Mation Pencil Animation Workshop, where young aspiring filmmakers will embark on an exciting journey to create their own animated movie using the classic technique of pencil drawing. Over the course of four engaging lessons, students will learn the fundamentals of animation and storytelling, honing their skills to produce a collective masterpiece.
The Tina Mation Pencil Animation Workshop
The Tina Mation Pencil Animation Workshop is an exciting four-week course where students learn the magic of animation using traditional pencil drawing techniques. Each week, they will develop skills in storytelling, movement, and creative expression, culminating in a fully animated class project.
🔹 Week 1: Introduction to Animation & Storyboarding
Students will explore the basics of animation with simple examples to copy, learning how to bring drawings to life. They will also be introduced to storyboarding, deciding whether to work individually, in small groups, or as a class on a shared theme.
🔹 Week 2: Developing the Animation
Students begin work on their animation projects, focusing on movement, timing, and flow. They will refine their sequences and learn key animation techniques to ensure smooth motion.
🔹 Week 3: Finalising the Animation
With their animations nearly complete, students will prepare their drawings for filming, making final adjustments to ensure consistency and fluidity in their work.
🔹 Week 4: Titles, Credits & Filming
In the final session, students will design title and credit pages before filming their animations. Each class’s clips will be edited and compiled into a finished video, showcasing their creativity and hard work.
By the end of the course, students will have gained hands-on experience in animation, storytelling, and teamwork, leaving with a completed animated film to share and celebrate.
